Evergreen Space Museum

Papa recently retired, so he decided to come visit for almost a week. While he was here... We took him to the new addition at the Evergreen Museum.. the Space Museum.

Allie's favorite part was riding the little planes.. of course, she did choose to ride the red one.

Allie liked the space men, but Shannon..well, she was not so sure about them.

Playing in the Mud and Grass

Cousins are in town... and Allie and Sandy are having a great time playing. Today they decided to dress like twins apparently, and go outside and get dirty.

For some reason, this is all the pictures I took of their visit... hahaha.

Hopscotch

As Spring arrives, we are still enjoying sunshine that it is bringing with it.. (atleast for now, in Oregon this may not last).

Today it was time to bust out the chalk and play hopscotch. Allie recentlly saw an episode of Agent Oso where he helped a girl learn to play hopscotch... so, it was our turn.

First you draw up the hopscotch board. She did a good job making the squares, and needed a bit of help with the numbers.

Then you find a couple stones and drop them on a number...

And you are ready to go....

Shannon was not much into it, but loved using the chalk as chapstick...

Outside with the dogs...

It is almost Spring. Some days feel like Spring, some days look like Spring... then it is cold and rainy. So, on days when it seems like Spring is just around the corner, we like to be outside....

Both girls love swinging....

and kicking the soccer ball around...

But mostly, they love to chase their doggies... today they chased them so much, that the doggies actually laid still on the ground long enough for a photo... this NEVER happens..

The next Sarah Hughes....????

Since the Olympics, we have been getting a lot of requests to go ice skating.... and this week we happened to be in the Lloyd Center and Allie was ecstatic to see the rink.... There was no way we were going to get out of there without letting her on the ice.

Cousin Time

Allie and Shannon love it when little cousin Brett comes to visit. He is such a sweet little guy.

Both girls love to be on the floor playing with him.

Shannon is so good at sharing with him and even wanted to read books to him... though she is not a fan when her momma holds him.

This picture below just made me laugh... Shannon has her belly out, and looks so serious...

And Allie wanted to see him crawl, but kept bringing toys to him... so, it took a few minutes before she realized he was not going to crawl unless she moved a little further away with the toys...

A future olympian... or artist!! :)

This post is a bit late.. but I had to scan in the picture...

So, as the olympics come to a close, I must tell you how much Allie loved the women's ice skating. She would make us pause it between each skater, so she could run upstairs to her room, and change her dress into a princess dress that best matched that skaters costume. Then she would come downstairs, and while the skater performed, Allie would do her best to mimic the movements...all over our living room. It was so fun to watch. I only wished I had taken the time to get out my camera and take pictures, or better yet, video.

However, after all the performing was done.... Allie wanted to remember this by drawing her own picture. It was of the whole family skating.

Notice that Shannon does not have skates, nor does Kenai and Katmai, but atleast everyone made it on the picture :) Next time I will get my camera out.

Coloring is dangerous work...

Allie loves to color, so, of course, Shannon has developed an intense need to be coloring when ever big sister is. So, I do no usually think anything of Shannon sitting on the little table, grabbing a color pencil and paper.. and going to work.

However, sometimes color pencils are dangerous. She was not running with it, she did not wack her sister with it, she did not try to use it as a sword... nope. While coloring, Shannon sneezed very hard.... and the color pencil jammed into the bridge of her nose. Coloring is dangerous, even when taking every precaution... :)

By the way, I did wait til the next day to take a picture, so as not to be an insensitive momma.
