Christmas Part 2: Christmas Morning and Day

The morning began with the opening of stockings....

Allie showing off her new jammies..

Even mommy got new footie jammies...

And then while Allie and mom were upstairs checking out a new Dora game, Shannon helped Daddy make a birthday coffee cake for breakfast... We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and enjoyed a breakfast before opening more presents...

The big gift had to wait til after Church... then they found the trains...

It was a wonderful Christmas, and we enjoyed an afternoon with a house full of friends and family!!!

Merry Christmas Part 1: Christmas Eve

The Shaver Family had a wonderful Christmas... here is a quick look into our holiday, beginning

Christmas Eve Dresses... in our house, we get dressed up for Candlelight Service, so the girls put on their fancy dresses, along with matching dresses for the babies.

We attempted to get a picture of the girls with their cousin and Grandma... but it was not easy. Brett was not into posing with the girls...

Then it is off to church. After church, it is home for dessert... cookies to celebrate Jesus' birthday, and then we open one gift ....

Christmas Jammies... (and new books)

Grandma read the new books to the girls...

After the family had left and the girls were sleeping, it was time to stuff the stockings and get out the "big" gift... GEO Trax... how long will it take Kyle to get this together?
Not too long... :)

Zoo Lights

We joined the rest of Oregon in heading to the zoo on December 23rd... It was a warm night, there was no rain...so I think everyone decided to head on down to check out the lights.

The lines were long, but the girls didn't care and once inside, they loved it... Though, they were disappointed the animals were not awake to see them.

Trampoline Fun

Since the girls all had time off before Christmas, we went with the Jenkins up to Tigard to check out a trampoline place called Sky High Sports. The girls bounced like crazy for an hour..... and then they were exhausted and ready for lunch.

Sunday School Program

The Sunday School at St. John put on a Christmas program called Follow the Star. We have been singing the songs to get ready for two months!! :) And, Allie was one of three little people to play the "page"... which gave her two lines... though, they were pretty hard to hear. But, she sang out with gusto!!

Here is a video of the first song.. Follow the Star

Picking out Decorating the Tree: the forgotten entry

So, I started this entry but never finished and never uploaded the pictures... so, better late than never, right????

After we got home from our Thanksgiving weekend, we headed to a local farm to pick and cut our own Noble Christmas Tree.

Allie was determined to be the one to choose this year, and after a few minutes, we heard her yell that she "found it"... and here it is ....

It was a pretty good choice, so Kyle got to cutting.... but not without Allie making sure it was done right. :)

After we got home, it was time to decorate... Daddy put on the lights, and then Allie helped put on the star....

Then it was time for ornaments...

Posing with the finished tree....

Christmas Program

Allie had her first ever School Christmas program. It was a cute program, and her classes did three or four songs.

Sorry, the quality is not good (not sure I like my new camera!!) but hopefully you can see Allie really enjoyed these songs!!!

Great Wolf Lodge

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge with our friends the Jenkins last week and had a wonderful time. The waterpark is amazing and there is a lot to do when not swimming, too!

Swimming fun!!

Story Time!! Each day they do story time, and it concludes with "snow".

Magic Quest. If you have not been there before, there is a magic quest game that you buy wands for and the quests take you all over the lodge. It is quite impressive.

and, of course, food. specifically, ICE CREAM.

It really is fun for everyone...
