Camping for Fathers Day

For Fathers Day Weekend, we went camping at South Beach, in Newport, Oregon. We had a great time, a much needed time outside!! It was our first camping trip of the season, and we were once again pleased with our end of year purchase last year... our pop up tent trailer. It took us less than 1/2 hour to have camp set up ... then a quick bike ride to burn off some energy, and it was time to start a fire. After dinner, of course, more camp fire time.. which must include roasting of marshmallows!!!

Allie had fun climbing the trees, and enjoyed going for walks in the "mossy" forest!!
Grandma and Grandmadaddy came out to play for the day! We went to the aquarium then played at the beach! All in all it was a great weekend!!

Shannon is 9 months

So, time sure does fly by. Our little munchkin turned 9 months yesterday.. It has been a busy month for her.. she has broken through two teeth, learned to crawl, begun pulling herself standing and pretty much decided that the sooner she can walk, the better chance of catching her sister... She seems determined to not be a crawler for long. She has an infectious little laugh and loves her sister, doggies and most little kids. :) She is still a momma's girl, which I don't mind too much right now... here are a couple recent photos, and in one you can even see one of her lil teeth!!

Cherry Pickin at Grandma and Grandmadaddys

This week we went Cherry Pickin.... at the girl's grandparents in Woodburn... Their tree is overflowing.. with cherries.

Allie had been riding her bike, so she had the helmet on ... and just to be safe on the ladder, she kept it on. She is so strange sometimes!! :)

Allie was testing out the cherries, eating as many as she put in the bucket. :)

Shannon had to be backpacked because we let her crawl around for a bit, but she kept finding cherries that had fallen and trying to eat them. She does love her some food!!!

Sweet Summer Strawberries

So, our garden is planted and growing well... we have three rows of corn, two tomato plants, zuchini, summer squash, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, cucumbers, radishes, spinach, carrots, snap peas and strawberries...

Plenty of strawberries. Now last year, of all our strawberry plants, only one had fruit... and even then it was only one strawberry at a time. This year these buggers are making up for it... we have more strawberries than we can keep up with... we even had friends over to pick some for them....

and with ours, we eat plenty, then decided to try something new.. freezer jam!!

Allie is always so helpful when in the kitchen.

We finally finished laying the mulch after 25 yards of hemlock and 2 yards of cedar!!! But it looks nice!!

Happy Birthday Brett!!! Love Allie

Allie and Shannon have a beautiful new cousin, Brett!! Welcome Brett. Born June 11 at 7:30 am. Allie is sad she does not get to see him, so she made him a birthday cupcake and sang this song for him.

Brett we cannot wait to meet you! Much Love, Allie, Shannon, Uncle Kyle and Aunt Stacie

A good time with Family

Last weekend we decided to get out of Mac and head to Tri-cities to hang out with Mark and Kim... Kim was due this week with their first child, so we wanted to play with them and distract them from the waiting.

Allie and Shannon had a great time visiting with Aunt Kim and Uncle Mark!! We went to the park and played in a small poool there.

While there, Allie and Uncle Mark decided to have a squirt gun water fight in the back yard... not sure who won.

And here is the first picture of the cousins... :)

Though, I can tell you now that Little Brett arrived 3 days after we left... we cant wait to meet him and get a new cousins picture.

A busy week!!

So, as you all know or dont know.. it has been a busy week for us all.. in addition to hectic stuff, we had some milestones as well. Shannon popped out her first tooth yesterday, with her second one ready to pop any time.. and she is officially crawling. So fun... though i realized this is going to complicate matters for Allie. As Allie and I were working on a puzzle on the floor yesterday, lil sister kept crawling over and "helping".... hmmm...

Allie continues to be active and so much fun. She recently got her own camelpack (backpack with water inside) for our walks... and she had to break it in right away.... She thought she looked like Dora... for those of you who dont know Dora the Explorer... you can google it. :) Also, Allie has been playing a lot with the Jenkin's girls, as evidenced by her newest friend, cocoa (pictured below) and her non stop playing like a puppy. Though when she is not playing, she is obsessed with waiting for two babies to arrive and a wedding (where she says she is going to be the princess wearing her princess dress, crown and flowers)... She asks everyday if Mark and Kim or Scott and Jess have had their baby.. or if we can go to Ross and Kris's wedding... hmmm., when do they learn patience???

Here are some pics and even a short video... :)

Potty Talk

So, tonight I heard Allie talking in the bathroom. I went in to see what was going on and she was standing by the toilet (her pants still down, by the way), talking into the t-bowl. I listened for a second, but could not figure out who she was talking to....so i asked her. She said she was talking to the toilet paper. She was telling it where it was going to go. I asked her why. She said the toilet and toilet paper were friends, so she was telling the paper it was going into the toilet, but it was ok because it was her friend. Oh. Ok. Thanks.

Grammie: We will miss you!

Today is a sad day for the Shaver Family. Kyle's grammie passed away. She had been diagnosed with cancer a month ago, then a few days ago suffered a massive heart attack. She has gone home to be with her Savior and we are thankful for the time we had with her. She came to Oregon in November, and has spent a great deal of time with my girls. They have come to know her and love her dearly, and I know Allie will miss her grammie. Here are some photos since she arrived in November.
