Ok, so when is appropriate for kids to begin reading in the bathroom? Apparently, at age four, if the cover of Readers Digest has ice cream on it....

Weekend Activities

We spent last weekend in Tri-Cities to celebrate Cousin Brett's 1 year birthday. We enjoyed a weekend of fun with "the brothers" and sisters in laws... and the three cousins!!

Shannon and Allie love Brett. Shannon even is willing to share her cheerios with him...



And, in apparently what is becoming a tradition, there were water fights between Allie and her uncles...


I am not sure, but I think she things she won by ending up in the bucket...

The sisters in laws enjoyed relaxing and avoided the water fights as much as possible....


Also, Allie enjoyed helping Aunt Kim cross stitch and make funny faces...

The greatest daddy....

To our daddy, who is the greatest man in our life... Happy Fathers Day... We love you bunches, bunches and then more....

I naked!!

I was cooking in the kitchen, and turned around to see this....


Shannon then informed me that "I naked".... and I looked into the living room, and there was her discarded clothing..

Mind you, this pile of clothing was about 10 feet from Kyle...If you look closely at the 1st picture, you can see why he was oblivious to the happenings.... yep, world cup!!

hmmm.. great. See, Allie never went through that naked phase.. this is gonna be fun!!

"Spins-around" Sisters.. always...

Many of you have heard the stories about Allie and her "spins-arounds". For a couple years now, she has refused to wear regular pajamas with legs/shorts... rather choosing nightgown style which she lovingly has renamed "spins-arounds"... (most likely because she spins around in them like dresses...)

Anyway, the past couple weeks the inevitable has happened... Shannon has been refusing jammies and wanting 'pinaround', like allie... and while she is stinkin' cute with her sister in a nightie, it is a bit frustrating to start this already... she already wants to dress herself (the other day she wore a shirt all day inside out and backwards, because she insisted on putting it on herself.....

oh, well.. gotta love the 'spins-around' sisters....

Carriage Ride

While at her recital, the dancers (and their family) enjoyed carriage rides around downtown McMinnville in between shows.... Allie and Shannon were so happy!!!

A star is born....

All year Allie has been attending a Creative Movement dance class at Van de Veere Studios... Well, this past Sunday, she performed a routine in the end of year recital.


She loved her sailor girl costume..


She danced with three other little girls...

Portland Saturday Market

We spent the morning with our good friends at the Portland Saturday Market.

First on the agenda, get breakfast....



Then the girls enjoyed playing while we listened to some music and waited for everyone to finish breakfast...

Finally, time to shop. Yummy..... I couldn't help but buy some of these snap peas....


and the beans were so colorful....


We will definitely have to go up again soon!!

Gift from Grandma Joy

The girls received a package in the mail today, so after bathv time, they rushed downstairs to check it out...


It is a super cute Noah's ark Tea Set... with a tin of cookies!!

But of course, Shannon loved the cookies best...

Time in Seattle

We spent a couple days in Seattle, so we could see cousins Tia and Hailey who were on their way to Alaska for the summer...

Allie promptly took over, and got them to play with her... a game of chase, races, and duck duck goose were on the agenda first...

Shannon watched while enjoying a snack...
Then followed Hailey aroud.


Of course, no day is complete without story time.... I just am not sure who is reading and who is being read to..

Well, in this picture I am sure... Shannon thought Skipper would enjoy a story too.

It was a quick visit... and all enjoyed it and look forward to seeing them again in August on their way home... :)

Tired Girls

Today we went to Woodburn and went swimming and played with Grandma and Granddaddy.... the girls love their Woodburn play time... and they always leave a bit worn out. Within minutes of being in the car heading home....

Camping and Fishing

After the holiday weekend, we decided to go camping for a few days... While the weather was not very pleasant, we had a wonderful couple days. We stayed at Cold Water Cove campground, which is on Clear Lake about 25 miles from Sisters, Oregon.


While there, we rented a boat and fished... Allie and Daddy caught rainbow trout... Allie catching the biggest one of course.. 11 inches.


We also hiked around some waterfalls, but the rain was so bad we didn't get any pictures!! Thank Goodness we had a trailer to come back to for drying off and warming up!!
